The Peoria Police Department recently received three grants totaling $169,720 from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.
Funding will go to DUI/impaired driving enforcement; pedestrian and bicycle safety enforcement and education; and selective traffic enforcement programs.
The grants will provide funding through September 2026.
Nearly $78,300 will go to DUI/impaired driving enforcement to support personnel services, such as overtime, materials and supplies including breath test devices, and equipment such as breath test instruments to enhance DUI/impaired driving enforcement throughout Peoria.
