GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Thousands nationwide are taking to the streets for the “No Kings” demonstration, including here in Eastern NC.

Local rallies are taking place in New Bern and Greenville as part of a larger, coordinated effort across the U.S. to challenge the direction of the country under President Donald Trump.

In New Bern, over 1,000 have gathered at Union Point Park in support of the protest, while some counter-protesters were present. The rally took place from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Greenville is also slated to host a similar rally from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at 10th & Evans Street.

The ‘No Kings’ movement is characterized by organizers as the third mass mobilization since Trump’s return to the White House, occurring after day 18 of the government shutdown.
