SPRING, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman was found fatally shot inside her Spring area home, leading police to arrest the victim's stepdaughter on Friday afternoon, according to court documents.

A murder charge was filed against 27-year-old Da'kayla Dailey, who investigators say is accused of fatally shooting her stepmother, 69-year-old Kathy Brown.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez posted on social media Frida y that said the shooting stemmed from the suspect reportedly being upset that Brown did not have any money.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office said a man working on Brown's pool heard multiple gunshots coming from inside the house in the 21300 block of Hannover Forest Drive.
