Two of the Kraken’s first coaches came via the Maple Leafs – Dave Hakstol, who took them to their first and only playoff appearance to date, and now Lane Lambert – both on staff under Sheldon Keefe and Craig Berube, respectively. Article content Article content

Spencer Carbery, beginning his second season with the Washington Capitals, won last year’s Jack Adams Award as coach of the year after tutelage under Keefe, who will be back next week with the New Jersey Devils.

Melfort, Sask., native Lambert had been a head coach of the New York Islanders, spending last season as Berube’s ‘associate’ coach, before replacing Dan Bylsma behind the Kraken bench in the summer.
