The Toronto Blue Jays are facing elimination for the first time in these playoffs, but that hasn’t killed John Schneider’s energy.

After the Jays coughed up an eighth-inning lead and lost 6-2 to the Mariners, Schneider had some explaining to do for his decision to put pitcher Brendon Little in the game.

Despite the loss, the Jays are heading back home for Game 6 of this series, with the hope of forcing a penultimate Game 7.

Perhaps it’s the home-field advantage, or the fact that the Jays largely played well in Seattle, but Schneider is still sounding optimistic about his team’s chances of continuing their impressive postseason run past Sunday night.

“Pat on the ass,” Schneider said postgame. “Keep your head up, you know what I mean?”
