BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football safety Byron Baldwin Jr. could make his collegiate debut during Saturday's game against Michigan State

The true freshman missed IU's first six games for the No. 3 Hoosiers (6-0; 3-0 Big Ten) with an undisclosed injury , but wasn't listed on this week's availability report released two hours before kickoff.

Baldwin, who was the highest ranked recruit in IU's 2025 signing class (No. 258 nationally), will give Indiana some much-needed depth in the secondary.

Baldwin was expected to be a contributor at the start of the year before the injury derailed his progress.
