TALLADEGA COUNTY, Ala. —

One person was killed and two others seriously injured in a crash in Talladega County Saturday.

Just after 6:30 a.m. two vehicles crashed on Alabama 21 near Garrison Lane, about five miles north of Talladega, according to troopers.

The highway was closed for several hours in both directions.

Sonia Stoddard, 60, of Alexandria was driving a 2017 Nissan Rogue that collided head-on with a 2016 Jeep Patriot. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her passenger and the driver of the Jeep were both injured and airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.
