“Black Phone 2” was all the buzz at the box office this Friday, taking first place with $10.78 million in earnings for its opener, according to The Numbers .

The supernatural thriller, which The Hollywood Reporter called an “effective horror sequel” to its 2021 predecessor, stars Ethan Hawke reprising his role as a masked serial killer. 3

It cost $30 million to make and is expected to rake in a three-day total of $24.4 million, as per Deadline .

In second place was “Tron: Ares,” the third film in the Tron series and a sequel to 2010’s “Tron: Legacy,” with a $3 million haul.
