However, Scott Patterson, 67, revealed that if he didn’t play the plaid-wearing diner owner in “Gilmore Girls,” there was another character he had his eye on portraying.
“If I had a chance to play any other character on that show, it would’ve been Kirk, talk about fun. I wanna be a hot dog for a day. Why not?” the actor teased. 7
Kirk, portrayed by Sean Gunn, took on odd jobs around the quaint town, one time dressing as a giant hot dog, working at the beauty shop, and being a handy man.
The drama, which ran for seven seasons from 2000 to 2007, followed Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham), a single mom who lived in Stars Hollow, Connecticut, with her daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel).
Patterson played Graham’s love interest on the WB series.
