CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — As the government shutdown continues, one important West Virginia program is beginning to see issues arise.
According to a Facebook post from the West Virginia Department of Human Services (DoHS), the United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service has directed the DoHS, along with other state SNAP agencies to "delay the issuance of October 2025 SNAP benefits approved on or after October 16, 2025."
The department was also made aware that it is "very likely" November SNAP benefits will be delayed as well unless congress makes progress in reopening the government in the next few days.
