NORTH CHARLESTON — People lined both sides of a large swath of Ashley Phosphate Road on Oct. 18 as locals joined No Kings national day of action protests happening across the country.
Traffic slowed as some drivers flipped their turn signals on, seeking parking in the largely-full lots that surrounded a mostly vacant shopping center on Ashley Phosphate Road, between Dorchester Road and Patriots Boulevard, and others repeatedly pounded on their horns in support for the peaceful protest.
More than 2,600 rallies, including about a dozen in the Palmetto State, are planned across the country on Oct. 18 in what’s expected to be the largest mass mobilization against President Donald Trump’s policies since he returned to the White House in January. The protests are set against the backdrop
