MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — There were multiple " No Kings " events across Maryland on Saturday, including protests and a food drive.
In Chevy Chase hundreds of people gathered up and down Connecticut Avenue, hoping to send a strong message to those driving by, and to those in power. Demonstrators said they aren't only standing against President Trump, they are standing up for free speech, federal workers, and democracy.
"I'm here to thank the lower courts for holding the line,” said demonstrator, Peg O'Donnell.
O’Donnell, and many others in attendance, said they are also here to stand up for immigrants.
"I think they're mistreating the immigrants, we're a country of immigrants,” O’Donnell said
