SUFFIELD, Conn. — A Suffield man is in critical condition after authorities responded to a report of a lawnmower accident Saturday afternoon near 545 Thompsonville Road, police said.

Suffield Police Chief James Canon said in a statement to FOX61, “Upon arrival, a male party was found lying on the ground with an overturned mower on top of him. The lawnmower was removed, and medical aid was immediately rendered.” The victim was then transported from the scene for further treatment.

An investigation into the incident is underway.

Police have not yet released the man’s name, as they are in the process of notifying the family.
