Construction of a new $95 million Coriell Institute Strategic Innovation Center is underway in Camden.
The building is expected to open in early 2028.
The location, which was announced in February, will serve as the Coriell Institute’s new headquarters, research center and biorepository. A groundbreaking ceremony was held last week.
The center will also house six National Institutes of Health biobanks, and the project is expected to create about 150 new permanent jobs plus 100 construction jobs, according to a statement .
The facility will feature state-of-the-art incubator and laboratory spaces for emerging biotech companies.
