FRAKENMUTH, MI - A Michigan resident allegedly shot himself accidentally inside a Kroger store on Saturday, Oct. 18, according to Frankenmuth Police.

At approximately 2:13 p.m., Saginaw County 911 dispatched officers to a report of a shooting that had just occurred at 435 N Main St., the local Kroger store.

Upon arrival, officers immediately rendered first aid, including applying a tourniquet to the patient’s leg to control the bleeding.

Police said the injured subject, a 53-year-old resident of Vassar and a Concealed Pistol License (CPL) holder, was with his wife at the time of the incident.

The subject stated he was reaching into his pocket when the weapon unexpectedly discharged.
