It was just over two years ago that Hamas terrorists from the Gaza Strip invaded Israel without warning during the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah. Some 4,300 missiles were fired into Israel, paragliders and armored vehicles made incursions and innocent civilians were massacred in 21 different communities. Many young women were brutally raped and paraded through the streets. Nearly 1,200 people were slaughtered, and approximately 250 were taken captive. It was, in our terms, their 9/11.

This led to the last two years of the war in Gaza, designed to stamp out Hamas. Through all of it, hostages were held, brutalized and many died in their captivity.
