SARASOTA, Fla. ( WWSB ) - On Oct. 18, the Sarasota County Fire Departments hosted a family friendly event at Fire Station 16 — inviting the community to meet local firefighters, get a car seat safety inspection and learn about fire safety.

The event was free and helped teach families about fire prevention, how to use certain fire apparatus and hands-only CPR.

The event also featured members from SunCoast Blood Centers for those on-site interested in donating blood.
