An earthquake of magnitude 5.66 struck the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border on Friday, with a depth of 10 kilometer, reported the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).

The earthquake came only a few hours after a 4.3-magnitude earthquake had struck Afghanistan early on Friday at around 5:23 am, roughly 133 kilometres east of Kabul, the country’s capital. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the tremor originated at a depth of 10 kilometers, with its epicentre located at latitude 34.57°N and longitude 70.66°E.

In a separate incident later in the morning, tremors were also felt in India’s Arunachal Pradesh, where an earthquake of 3.2 magnitude was reported in East Kameng district at 8:42 am. The NCS data showed that the epicentre was about 89
