A woman died in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning in the west end of the city. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. near the intersection of Eglinton Avenue West and Bicknell Avenue, just west of Keel Street, according to Toronto Police.
A 28-year-old man was driving a Ford Mustang westbound on Eglinton when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a concrete pole. The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released her name or age.
The driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
An investigation into the crash is currently underway. Police are urging local residents, businesses, and drivers who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or the incident to reach out to investigators.
