Heading into Saturday against No. 12 Georgia Tech , Duke football had a chance to control its own destiny for a spot in the ACC championship game come December.
The Blue Devils and Yellow Jackets were squaring off as some of the final remaining undefeated teams in league play, but it was Georgia Tech who came out on top, 27-18, handing Duke its first ACC loss of the year. Duke was undone by its own mistakes, including a first quarter scoop and score and going 3 of 5 in the red zone, unable to get its first win over Georgia Tech since 2019.
"I think that was two outstanding teams, I think two of the best teams in the league," head coach Manny Diaz said following the loss. "When two really good teams play against each other, it's not hard to figure out what's going to decide it, giving awa
