BURTON - The Burton Panthers ensured their fans had a happy homecoming on Friday and playoff football to look forward to in November.
Burton built a big lead in the first half and carried it throughout the night for a 47-14 victory over Milano in District 13-2A-II play.
The Panthers (8-0, 5-0 district) clinched a playoff spot with Friday’s win while scoring over 40 points for a fourth time this season. Burton scored at least 40 points against Milano (2-6, 2-3 district) for a fifth straight meeting.
Burton coach Jason Hodde said the clinched playoff appearance is “always a good thing” as the Panthers get closer to their district championship goals.
