AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Today, the "No Kings" protest took place at the Old City Hall building in Downtown Amarillo. Protesters gathered on Saturday afternoon for a peaceful rally organized by the national “No Kings” movement, protesting the direction of the country under President Donald Trump.
The event, held from 2 to 6 p.m., aimed to unite residents under the slogan “In America, we don’t have kings.” Organizers said the movement emphasizes nonviolent action and community engagement while rejecting political corruption and abuse of power.
Participants held signs with quotes "Silence is violence," "No kings", and "United we stand, divided we fall," and chanted slogans promoting accountability in government. Among those attending was Amarillo resident Karen Burns, who said she joi
