TEMPLE, Texas — A former Temple police officer who was sentenced on child pornography and invasive visual recording charges has been released from jail under shock probation, according to Bell County court records.
Records show Brandon Lyn Mathiews was found guilty on six counts of possession of child pornography and one count of invasive visual recording in a bath or dressing room. He was sentenced to eight years, but that sentence was probated for five years, meaning he would not serve time if he successfully completed probation without violations.
In addition, Mathiews received an 18-month state jail sentence on March 21, 2025, for the invasive visual recording charge, with six days of credit for time served.
On Oct. 16, 2025, Bell County Judge Paul LePak granted Mathiews shock pro
