Elmira, N.Y. (WETM) — A lot of families got into the spooky season early at this year's trunk or treat event at the Weis Markets parking lot.

The event took place on Oct. 18, and kids were able to show off their costumes, and vendors decorated their cars to bring the spooky spirit.

There were a lot of different costumes like dinosaurs, superheroes, video game characters, and more.

People at the event say it was a lot of fun, and its safe for kids so they don't have to cross any streets while trick or treating.

"It's a real fun gathering event," said Archie Bogle, a vendor at the event. "Theres a lot of people here, good music, and great candy."

Most of the vendors were radio stations playing Halloween music, dressed up in costumes, and handing out candy.
