Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi has officially informed the club he will not sign a new contract, manager Oliver Glasner confirmed on Friday.
The England international’s current deal runs until June 30, meaning he can walk away for free next summer — or be sold in January if Palace choose to cash in.
“He said, ‘No, I want to make something different’"
Speaking ahead of Palace’s clash with Bournemouth, Glasner said the 25-year-old centre-back has made his decision clear.
“The club wanted him to stay. They offered Marc a new contract but he said, ‘No, I want to make something different,’ and that’s normal," Glasner told reporters. “Now it’s about how we deal with this situation — what’s the best way to get this next step done. And that’s all about how we are talking together."
