LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Two separate incidents occured at Bowman Field on Saturday, causing one runway to temporarily close.
According to Bowman Field Director of Public Relations Natalie Chaudoin, a Cirrus SR22 aborted takeoff on runway 6/24 at around 12:25 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.
The aircraft was able to come to a stop in the grass next to the runway and was towed to the ramp area. Two people were on board the plane.
Shortly after at 1:10 p.m., a second incident took place on Runway 15/33 when a Sting Sport aircraft’s front gear was damaged following its landing. One person was on board.
Runway 15/33 was temporarily closed afterward, but was reopened at around 4:45 p.m.
There were no reported injuries.
