HAMDEN, CT -- The Maine Black Bears fell at the hands of the Quinnipiac Bobcats in game two of their doubleheader on Saturday.
Maine went into this game facing several injuries, including their captain Thomas Freel.
About halfway through the first period, the Bobcats we're working the puck around the attacking zone, before finding William Gilson who had the space to load up and fire one into the back of the net from way outside, putting the Cats up 1-0.
Maine then tallied a penalty, but thanks to great five-on-four defense, they were able to kill it off.
Freshman Mathis Rousseau stepped in at goaltender with the starter being sidelined with injury, and he was able to make several great stops in the first period. But the Black Bears ultimately couldn't climb back into this game, and l
