EDEN TOWNSHIP — A deadly crash in Lake County Friday afternoon left one man dead after a semi-truck collided with an SUV and burst into flames.

Deputies said it happened around 1:40 p.m. at the intersection of West 10 Mile Road and North M-37 in Eden Township.

Sheriff’s said the SUV failed to yield while making a left turn, pulling into the path of the southbound semi.

The semi overturned and caught fire, trapping the 73-year-old driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 49-year-old SUV driver from Irons was taken to the hospital for evaluation and later released.
