WILKES-BARRE — On a recent trip in the Way Back Machine, the destination was again Plymouth, and the destinations were all parades.
Old Shawnee used to have several parades, and each of them brought out a crowd — families, kids, fire trucks, floats, bands, Little Leaguers, Halloween-costumed goblins, witches, clowns and, of course, Santa Claus.
And there were also parades to honor veterans — with lots of uniformed men and women marching down Main Street and a ceremony held in front of the old, long-gone Ward P. Davenport High School.
