CORYDON, Ind. — Hundreds lined the street of Capitol Avenue in Corydon to show solidarity with other demonstrators during ‘No Kings’ protests held across the nation on Saturday.
Many held signs in support of the First Amendment, immigration, while denouncing ICE and National Guard troops on the ground in American cities, and the rise of fascism.
Ken Davenport, a U.S. veteran, was one of many sharing his dissatisfaction with the current administration’s leadership.
He said he wanted to attend the rally to share his thoughts in a calm, peaceful manner.
“I’m not satisfied with the status quo,” he said. “I think he’s [Trump] has gone way too far. Without some of the immigrants of people that have come from other places, this country would fall on its back. We need them to help us.”
