ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
A prayer walk on Saturday raised awareness about a missing 28-year-old Comanche woman last seen in Albuquerque on Sept. 6.
The event was put together by the local chapter of the American Indian Movement and attended by relatives, who also handed out flyers about the missing woman, Haylee Paddyacker.
The flyers also reflected the ongoing pain experienced by the families and friends of over 200 active cases involving missing Native persons.
Haylee's grandmother, Gayle Pratt, said she found out that Haylee was missing two weeks after it happened and immediately came from Oklahoma, where the family lives.
Pratt said she has seen Haylee periodically since she was moved to Albuquerque at a young age and grew up here.
