Police were warning the public about the dog after an attack sent one individual to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Police said officers responded to a report of an aggressive dog around 1 p.m. and found the dog running at large. They said one of the responding officers shot at the dog, and the dog then fled the area, running near an elementary school that was warned to keep students indoors.
