EAST LANSING — Harper Creek achieved its goal of getting back to the state finals in girls golf. But once the Beavers arrived, they ran into some hot golf teams at the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 3 State Golf Championships at Forest Akers Golf Course on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing.

Harper Creek, ranked No. 4 in the final high school girls golf state poll, finished ninth as a team at the state finals. The Beavers finished with a two-day total of 805. Grand Rapids Catholic Central finished as state champs with a team total of 682.
