LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- Thousands gathered to voice frustration over the country’s direction, with speakers and attendees citing tariffs, federal spending cuts and immigration enforcement as top concerns.
Jake Miller said tariffs have driven up prices for everyday goods. “I think the main thing for me is tariffs. I don’t think this man knows how tariffs work,” Miller said. “Those prices have been passed on to us, and now it’s basically becoming very not affordable to live anymore.”
Barbara Merlihan and Karen Clark traveled from Battle Creek to join fellow Michiganders. “We need to show up in larger numbers and prove that we, the people, are larger and stronger than those that are in government,” Merlihan said.
