Thousands of New Mexicans gathered in downtown Albuquerque for the "No Kings" protest, expressing concerns over democracy and human rights.
Michael Brescia, a demonstrator, told KOAT that he feels the Constitution is "being under attack in every single way at the federal level."
Others echoed the sentiment that basic human rights and democracy are at stake.
As thousands walked, streets became closed off, and drivers stepped out of their vehicles to witness what they called a piece of history. One observer noted that they saw the protest starting and thought it would last a few minutes, but it continued.
