With the arrest of four persons on Saturday, the Noida Police said it has busted a gang that was allegedly getting patients admitted to National Capital Region (NCR) hospitals using ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme) cards of retired defence personnel without their knowledge.

Police identified the accused as Danish, a DPharma student from Khanoda village in Bulandshahr — the alleged mastermind — as well as gang members Puran, Pradeep Gaur and Sumit. Four mobile phones as well as seven ECHS cards were recovered from their possession, officers said.

DCP (Central Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy said the accused allegedly used stolen or borrowed ECHS cards of ex-servicemen to get patients admitted to hospitals in exchange for money.
