The temple town of Puri experienced torrential rainfall on Sunday noon, causing significant waterlogging across the city and disrupting critical services. The downpour, which began around 2 PM, lasted for nearly one and a half hours, submerging several areas.

The drainage system was overwhelmed, leading to clogged drains and water accumulation. Shockingly, rainwater entered the main government hospital in Puri, creating a critical situation for patients and their attendants.

Several key areas, including Bada Danda (Grand Road) and surrounding localities, were inundated, disrupting normal life. Residents have raised concerns about inadequate drainage and the recurring issue of waterlogging during heavy rains.
