The Bank of Maharashtra employees & officers federation has written to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman regarding recent media reports suggesting a possible merger of Bank of Maharashtra with the State Bank of India , citing unnamed government sources.

The reports have created uncertainty and concern among the bank’s employees, customers, and investors.

In their letter, the federation stated, “Bank of Maharashtra has consistently delivered outstanding performance across key parameters in the banking sector. It continues to be a front-runner in operational efficiency, credit growth, and financial inclusion. The Bank has been honoured with numerous prestigious awards, recognising its significant contributions to the industry.”
