Discussion about an immigration ad-hoc committee will return to regular business for the Santa Maria City Council on Tuesday night , after being moved from the Sept. 16 meeting to allow for the full council to be present.

Creation of the committee was requested at the Aug. 6 council meeting by Councilmember Gloria Soto. Council discussion would focus on its structure, goals and the focus of any potential meetings with stakeholders about the impact of Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in the region.

Scheduled before the discussion will be a presentation of the 2025 Leisure Needs and Public Art five year plan, by Recreation and Parks Director Alex Posada.
