Two goals in the final period gave the South Carolina Stingrays a 2-1 victory over Norfolk before 6,285 at North Charleston Coliseum, dropping the Admirals to 1-1 on their ECHL season-opening trip.
The Admirals will play their home opener at 7:05 p.m. Friday at Scope against Worcester, starting a two-game, two-night series against the Railers.
Romain Rodzinski, named the night’s No. 1 star, ended a scoreless stalemate in the Stingrays’ home opener with a goal 3:37 into the final period. Ben Hawerchuk doubled the lead 9:46 into the period with another goal for the Stingrays, a Washington Capitals affiliate, who outshot Norfolk 37-21.
