A wild 20 minutes of their regular season sees the defending CPL champs do enough to host a post-season match at ATCO Field next weekend.

Cavalry FC will be home for its first game of the 2025 Canadian Premier League playoffs.

Calgary’s professional men’s footie side guaranteed that home date at Spruce Meadows — Sunday, Oct. 26 — by finishing third on the CPL table. A 2-2 draw against Vancouver FC at Willoughby Stadium in Langley, B.C., on Saturday secured that spot in the standings.

That tie wrapped up the regular season for Cavalry, which notched a 11W-8L-9D record on the campaign.

Standings-wise, it’s a pedestrian mark — really — for a club that has enjoyed so much success in its short history.
