PEORIA ( 25News Now ) - Peoria Firefighters believe an early Saturday afternoon house fire on the city’s South side was intentionally set.

It broke out on West Ann Street around 12:15 p.m. Saturday.

When firefighters arrived, they found the vacant home with heavy smoke and flames coming from the front window on the first floor.

Once they got inside, firefighters found significant fire and smoke conditions primarily in a front bedroom.

Firefighters say they got the main body of the fire knocked down within 15 minutes.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire was deemed to be arson.

Damage is estimated around $100,000.
