Florida football coach Billy Napier sounded like a coach resigned to his fate following a 23-21 homecoming win over Mississippi State at The Swamp that nearly slipped away in the closing seconds.

If not for an interception by Florida sophomore defensive tackle Michai Boireau (and why was Mississippi State throwing there to begin with) with 26 seconds left, the Florida Gators (3-4, 2-2 SEC) could have fallen to 2-5, considering the Bulldogs were in position to kick a game-winning field goal with the clock winding down.

Instead, Florida eked out a close win as a 9,5-point favorite, nearly letting a 13-point fourth quarter lead slip away against an MSU squad that entered the game with 14 straight SEC losses.
