If the Sudbury Wolves’ youngest players gained some valuable experience in closing out a hockey game in their win over the Soo Greyhounds on Friday, they learned a tough lesson in how to start one in their loss to those same Hounds on Saturday night.

A three-goal first frame was more than enough for the hosts to work with as they held off a strong third-period push from the Wolves en route to a 3-1 decision at GFL Memorial Gardens in Sault Ste. Marie.

Jan Chovan, with his second goal in three games, was the lone Wolf to find the score sheet when he capitalized on a power play in the second stanza, with Kieron Walton and Alex Pharand recording the assists.
