LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle after an altercation in a North Las Vegas parking lot, according to North Las Vegas police.

On Saturday, around 1:05 p.m., North Las Vegas police responded to the 1200 block of East Craig Road near 5th Street after a report of a man who was hit by a vehicle.

When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive man near a red SUV in a restaurant parking lot. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as 40-year-old Andrea Ann Roman, stayed at the scene and was arrested on charges of open murder with a deadly weapon.

Police said preliminary details showed that there may have been a prior altercation between those involved.
