With the festive season drawing massive crowds to railway stations across the country, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw visited New Delhi Railway Station on Saturday to personally review passenger facilities and crowd management efforts. His visit came amid one of the year’s busiest travel weekends, as thousands of people visit home to celebrate Diwali and Chhath.
During his inspection, Vaishnaw visited passenger waiting halls, ticket counters, and areas set up for crowd management. He also spoke with passengers on the platforms and inside trains to understand their travel experience and gather feedback firsthand. He also examined the functioning of the control room, which keeps an eye on station security through a network of CCTV cameras.
