PROVO, Utah — Utah football pulled the game within three points late as Devon Dampier found Larry Simmons to cap off a quick Utes drive.

The play gave Dampier his second TD of the game, and it was Simmons’ second score of the season.

Trailing 24-14 with about two minutes left, the Utes took just 1:21 to go 77 yards and get into the end zone.

It was exactly what the doctor ordered, but with no timeouts left, they still needed an onside kick. The attempt was poor, bouncing off a Utah player to default possession to the Cougars.

The BYU offense toom a couple of knees, cementing the 24-21 final score.
