BT's proposal to replace payphones and install new 'digital hubs' in a Midland city has been turned down - for being too modern.
The firm wanted to position a three-metre screen providing complimentary wifi and USB charging facilities in The Shambles in Worcester, with another planned outside the county cricket ground on New Road.
But Worcester City Council said the hubs were overly contemporary and constituted "street clutter".

BT had indicated the hub installations would coincide with removing "outdated" payphones from The Shambles, Broad Street and Corn Market.
