The Campbell County High School football team suffered its first loss of the season Friday night to Sheridan 28-10. It was a battle of the last two undefeated teams in 4A, and like last season, the Broncs got the better of CCHS and remain unbeaten.
For a bit, it looked like the Camels were going to be the ones to break Sheridan’s 50-game winning streak, jumping out to a 10-0 lead.
After holding Sheridan to a first drive three-and-out, CCHS marched down the field and on fourth at the Sheridan four yard line, Campbell County went for it, and it was quarterback Coulter Lang who found Ethan Masteller for the touchdown and the 7-0 lead.
The Camels defense would come through again with a fumble that was recovered by Tyler Rambo and returned into Sheridan’s 30.
