India skipper and batting icon Rohit Sharma achieved a milestone on Sunday, becoming the fifth Indian cricketer to make 500 appearances in international cricket. This feat was registered during the first ODI against Australia at Perth, adding another feather to his 17-year international career.
Rohit joins an elite group which includes Sachin Tendulkar (664 matches), Virat Kohli (550 matches), MS Dhoni (538) and Rahul Dravid (509). Sharma is now the 11 th cricketer globally to reach the 500-match mark across formats, as per a report by The Indian Express.
